Legal background

The Government would usually accord privileges, immunities and other facilities in respect of international organisations by Order in Council using delegated powers under the 1968 Act or the 2002 Act. Where these powers in the 1968 Act or 2002 Act are not sufficient, it is necessary to use primary legislation to accord the relevant facilities.
