Territorial extent and application
- The Act extends and applies to England and Wales only, with the following exceptions:
- Sections 13 – 15 (duty to collaborate in the exercise of victim support functions) extend to England and Wales but apply to England only;
- Section 19 (Domestic abuse related death reviews) extends and applies to England and Wales and Northern Ireland;
- Section 27 (the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration) and the consequential amendment extend and apply to England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland (and for these purposes the definition of "victim" in section 1 applies to England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland);
- Section 29 (information relating to victims: service police etc.) extends and applies to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
- Section 31 (right to erasure of personal data) extends and applies to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland;
- Section 45 (Part 2: consequential amendments) extend and apply to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Subsection (5) extends and applies to England and Wales and Scotland;
- Part 3 (Infected Blood Compensation Body) extends and applies to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. There is provision in the Act for any of the provisions of Part 3 to be extended, with or without modifications, via Order in Council to any of the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, Gibraltar or the Falkland Islands; and
- Part 5 (General) extends and applies to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
