6Commencement

(1)

Sections 1 and 2, so far as they extend to England and Wales, come into force at the end of the period of three months beginning with the day on which this Act is passed.

(2)

The following provisions come into force on such day as the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs in Northern Ireland (“DAERA”) may by order appoint—

(a)

sections 1 and 2, so far as they extend to Northern Ireland;

(b)

section 4.

(3)

Sections 3 and 5, this section and section 7 come into force on the day on which this Act is passed.

(4)

The Secretary of State may by regulations make transitional or saving provision in connection with the coming into force of any provision of this Act in relation to England.

(5)

DAERA may by order make transitional or saving provision in connection with the coming into force of any provision of this Act in relation to Northern Ireland.

(6)

Regulations or an order under this section may make different provision for different purposes.

(7)

The power of the Secretary of State to make regulations under this section is exercisable by statutory instrument.

(8)

The power of DAERA to make an order under this section is exercisable by statutory rule for the purposes of the Statutory Rules (Northern Ireland) Order 1979 (S.I. 1979/1573 (N.I. 12)).
