<Text>The Secretary of State may by regulations appoint a person to carry out functions with respect to obligations of relevant market participants under <InternalLink Ref="section-70" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/2023/52/section/70" DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2023/52/section/70">section 70</InternalLink>.</Text>

<Pnumber>2</Pnumber>

<Text>The Secretary of State may exercise the power under <InternalLink Ref="section-69-1" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/2023/52/section/69/1" DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2023/52/section/69/1">subsection (1)</InternalLink> so that more than one appointment has effect under that subsection at the same time.</Text>

<P2 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2023/52/section/69/3" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/2023/52/section/69/3" id="section-69-3">
<Pnumber>3</Pnumber>

<Text>An appointment may be made only with the consent of the person appointed (except where that person is the Secretary of State).</Text>

<Pnumber>4</Pnumber>

<Text>An appointment ceases to have effect if the Secretary of State by regulations revokes the appointment.</Text>

<Pnumber>5</Pnumber>
<P2para>
<Text>As soon as reasonably practicable after a person’s appointment under <InternalLink Ref="section-59-1" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/2023/52/section/59/1" DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2023/52/section/59/1">subsection (1)</InternalLink> ceases to have effect, the Secretary of State must make one or more transfer schemes under <InternalLink Ref="section-86" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/2023/52/section/86" DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2023/52/section/86">section 86</InternalLink> to ensure the transfer of any rights and liabilities of that person that the Secretary of State considers appropriate.</Text>

<Pnumber>6</Pnumber>

<Text>A person appointed under <InternalLink Ref="section-69-1" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/2023/52/section/69/1" DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2023/52/section/69/1">subsection (1)</InternalLink> is called a “hydrogen levy administrator”.</Text>
