eId="part-2-chapter-2"><num>Chapter 2</num><heading>Online procedure</heading><section eId="section-21" uk:target="true"><num>21</num><heading>Provision supplementing section 19</heading><subsection eId="section-21-1"><num>(1)</num><intro><p>The Lord Chancellor may, by regulations, provide for circumstances in which—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="section-21-1-a"><num>(a)</num><content><p>a person initiating proceedings of a specified kind may choose whether the proceedings are to be governed by Online Procedure Rules or the applicable standard rules;</p></content></level><level class="para1" eId="section-21-1-b"><num>(b)</num><content><p>the person initiating any aspect of proceedings that are governed by Online Procedure Rules may choose for that aspect to be initiated, conducted, progressed or disposed of in accordance with the applicable standard rules instead of Online Procedure Rules.</p></content></level></subsection><subsection eId="section-21-2"><num>(2)</num><content><p>Directions under <ref href="#">Schedule 3</ref> do not apply to proceedings to the extent that the applicable standard rules apply to those proceedings by virtue of regulations under subsection <ref href="#section-21-1">(1)</ref><ref href="#section-21-1-b">(b)</ref>.</p></content></subsection><subsection eId="section-21-3"><num>(3)</num><intro><p>The Lord Chancellor may, by regulations, provide—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="section-21-3-a"><num>(a)</num><intro><p>for circumstances in which proceedings of a specified kind—</p></intro><level class="para2" eId="section-21-3-a-i"><num>(i)</num><content><p>are not to be governed by Online Procedure Rules, or</p></content></level><level class="para2" eId="section-21-3-a-ii"><num>(ii)</num><content><p>are to cease to be governed by Online Procedure Rules, and</p></content></level></level><level class="para1" eId="section-21-3-b"><num>(b)</num><content><p>for the proceedings to be governed by the applicable standard rules instead.</p></content></level></subsection><subsection eId="section-21-4"><num>(4)</num><intro><p>The Lord Chancellor may, by regulations, provide—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="section-21-4-a"><num>(a)</num><intro><p>for circumstances in which excluded proceedings—</p></intro><level class="para2" eId="section-21-4-a-i"><num>(i)</num><content><p>are to be governed by Online Procedure Rules, or</p></content></level><level class="para2" eId="section-21-4-a-ii"><num>(ii)</num><content><p>are to be governed again by Online Procedure Rules, and</p></content></level></level><level class="para1" eId="section-21-4-b"><num>(b)</num><content><p>for the proceedings to cease to be governed by the applicable standard rules.</p></content></level></subsection><subsection eId="section-21-5"><num>(5)</num><intro><p>For the purposes of subsection <ref href="#section-21-4">(4)</ref><ref href="#section-21-4-a">(a)</ref>, proceedings are “excluded” if the proceedings are not governed, or cease to be governed, by Online Procedure Rules because of—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="section-21-5-a"><num>(a)</num><content><p>Online Procedure Rules of the kind referred to in section 19<ref href="#">(9)</ref><ref href="#">(a)</ref>, or</p></content></level><level class="para1" eId="section-21-5-b"><num>(b)</num><content><p>regulations under subsection <ref href="#section-21-1">(1)</ref><ref href="#section-21-1-a">(a)</ref> or <ref href="#section-21-3">(3)</ref><ref href="#section-21-3-a">(a)</ref>.</p></content></level></subsection><subsection eId="section-21-6"><num>(6)</num><content><p>Regulations under this section are subject to the concurrence requirement (see section 32<ref href="#">(1)</ref>).</p></content></subsection><subsection eId="section-21-7"><num>(7)</num><content><p>Regulations under this section are subject to affirmative resolution procedure (see section 49<ref
