1Extension of duty to provide careers guidance in schools
(1)
Section 42A of the Education Act 1997 (duty to provide careers guidance in schools in England) is amended as follows.
(2)
In subsection (1) for “the relevant phase of their education” substitute “their secondary education”
.
(3)
In subsection (2) after paragraph (c) insert—
“(d)
an Academy school;
(e)
an alternative provision Academy.”
(4)
In subsection (3) after paragraph (b) insert—
“(c)
in the case of an Academy school or an alternative provision Academy, the proprietor.”
(5)
After subsection (4) insert—
“(4A)
Subsection (4)(b) does not apply in relation to pupils over compulsory school age.”
(6)
Omit subsection (6).
(7)
In subsection (7) omit the definition of “class”.
