A pavement licence may be granted by a local authority for such period as the authority may specify in the licence.

The period specified may not exceed two years.

Where a pavement licence is deemed to be granted under section 3(9) it is F2... deemed to be granted for F3two years starting with the first day after the determination period.

The licence-holder may surrender a pavement licence at any time by giving notice to the local authority by which it is granted or deemed to be granted.

A notice under subsection (5) must be made in writing and sent using electronic communications in such manner as the local authority may specify.
