SCHEDULE 1The Historical Institutional Abuse Redress Board

The Board is a body corporate.

The Board is not to be regarded—
a
as the servant or agent of the Crown, or
b
as enjoying any status, immunity or privilege of the Crown.

Section 19 of the Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954, except for subsection (1)(a)(iv) and (vi), applies to the Board, subject to the provisions of this Act; and, for the purposes of that section, the Board is to be treated as if it were established by an Act of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
