The provisions of the Act extend to England and Wales, and Scotland.
The Act contains provisions that trigger the Sewel Convention that Westminster will not normally legislate with regard to devolved matters in Scotland without the consent of the Scottish Parliament. A legislative consent motion was agreed by the Scottish Parliament on 8 May 2018.
