SCHEDULE 7 Secure tenancies etc: phasing out of tenancies for life

Land Registration Act 2002 (c. 9)

29 In section 132 of the Land Registration Act 2002 (interpretation), in subsection (1)—

(a) in the definition of “flexible tenancy”, for “107A” substitute “115B”;

(b) in the definition of “relevant social housing tenancy”, after paragraph (a) (but before the “or” at the end) insert—

“(aa)

a secure tenancy of a dwelling-house in England granted on or after the day on which paragraph 4 of Schedule 7 to the Housing and Planning Act 2016 comes fully into force,

(ab)

an introductory tenancy of a dwelling-house in England granted on or after the day on which paragraph 4 of Schedule 7 to the Housing and Planning Act 2016 comes fully into force,”;

(c) at the appropriate places insert—

• ““introductory tenancy” has the same meaning as in Chapter 1 of Part 5 of the Housing Act 1996;”;

• ““secure tenancy” has the meaning given by section 79 of the Housing Act 1985;”.
