SCHEDULE 7Secure tenancies etc: phasing out of tenancies for life

29Land Registration Act 2002 (c. 9)

In section 132 of the Land Registration Act 2002 (interpretation), in subsection (1)—

a

in the definition of “flexible tenancy”, for “107A” substitute “115B”;

b

in the definition of “relevant social housing tenancy”, after paragraph (a) (but before the “or” at the end) insert—

  1. aa

    a secure tenancy of a dwelling-house in England granted on or after the day on which paragraph 4 of Schedule 7 to the Housing and Planning Act 2016 comes fully into force,

  2. ab

    an introductory tenancy of a dwelling-house in England granted on or after the day on which paragraph 4 of Schedule 7 to the Housing and Planning Act 2016 comes fully into force,

c

at the appropriate places insert—

  • “introductory tenancy” has the same meaning as in Chapter 1 of Part 5 of the Housing Act 1996;

  • “secure tenancy” has the meaning given by section 79 of the Housing Act 1985;
