The Secretary of State may issue guidance about the exercise of functions under this Schedule.

The Secretary of State may revise any guidance issued under this paragraph.

Before issuing or revising guidance under this paragraph the Secretary of State must consult—

a

persons whom the Secretary of State considers to represent the views of immigration officers and of chief officers of police, and

b

such other persons as the Secretary of State considers appropriate.

The Secretary of State must arrange for any guidance issued or revised under this paragraph to be published.
