Definitions

13 Definitions used in Part 1

In this Part—

• “adjudication” includes arbitration;

• “the Commissioner” means the Small Business Commissioner;

• “the complainant” has the same meaning as in section 4;

• “legal proceedings” means civil or criminal proceedings in or before a court or tribunal;

• “public authority” means—

  (a)

  a public authority within the meaning of section 3(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, or

  (b)

  a Scottish public authority within the meaning of section 3(1) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002;

• “SBC complaints scheme” has the meaning given by section 4(1);

• “small business” has the meaning given by section 2;

• “the respondent” has the same meaning as in section 4.
