(1)

Schedule 4 (interaction between Care Quality Commission and other authorities) is amended as follows.

(2)

In paragraph 1 (meaning of inspection authorities)—

(a)

in sub-paragraph (2)—

(i)

at the end of paragraph (d) insert “ , and ”, and

(ii)

omit paragraph (g) and the “and” preceding it, and

(b)

in sub-paragraph (3)—

(i)

at the end of paragraph (d) insert “ , and ”, and

(ii)

omit paragraph (g) and the “and” preceding it.

(3)

In paragraph 9 (advice or assistance for other public authorities)—

(a)

after sub-paragraph (1) insert—

“(1A)

The Commission may do anything it thinks appropriate to facilitate the carrying out of an inspection under section 10 of the Local Government Act 1999 (inspection of best value authorities).”, and

(b)

for sub-paragraph (2) substitute—

“(2)

Anything done under this paragraph may be done on such terms, including terms as to payment, as the Commission thinks fit.”
