(1)In section 1(6) of the Coinage Act 1971 (measurement of variation from standard weight)—
(a)omit “(other than a gold coin of a denomination mentioned in Schedule 1 to this Act)”, and
(b)for “shall be measured as the average of a sample of not more than one kilogram of that coin” substitute “ shall be measured in accordance with provision made by proclamation under section 3 ”.
(2)In section 3(1)(cd) of that Act (power to regulate coinage by proclamation) for “specified in Schedule 1 to this Act for a gold coin of a denomination mentioned in that Schedule” substitute “ for coins ”.
