24Recovering green deal payments: electricity suppliers
(1)
The Electricity Act 1989 is amended as follows.

Paragraph 2 of Schedule 6 to the Electricity Act 1989 (the electricity code) is amended as set out in subsections (3) to (5).

In sub-paragraph (1) for the words from “paid” to “electricity meter” substitute “
made all the relevant payments
”

“(1A)
A payment is a relevant payment for the purposes of sub-paragraph (1) if it is due from the customer to an electricity supplier—
(a)
in respect of the supply of electricity to any premises or the provision of an electricity meter; or
(b)
under a green deal plan (within the meaning of section 1 of the Energy Act 2011) in respect of the premises.”

In sub-paragraph (3) for “payment of the charges due” substitute “
the relevant payments to be made
”

“(a)
the sum is owed to an authorised supplier—
(i)
in respect of the supply of electricity to the premises on which the meter is installed,
(ii)
in respect of the provision of the meter, or
(iii)
under a green deal plan (within the meaning of section 1 of the Energy Act 2011) in respect of the premises; or”.
