Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009

An Act to make provision about apprenticeships, education, training and children's services; to amend the Employment Rights Act 1996; to establish the Young People's Learning Agency for England, the office of Chief Executive of Skills Funding, the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation and the School Support Staff Negotiating Body and to make provision about those bodies and that office; to make provision about the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority; to make provision about schools and institutions within the further education sector; to make provision about student loans; and for connected purposes.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

I1197Local Safeguarding Children Boards: annual reports

After section 14 of the Children Act 2004 (c. 31) insert—

14ALSCBs: annual reports

At least once in every 12 month period, a Local Safeguarding Children Board established under section 13 must prepare and publish a report about safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in its local area.

The Board must submit a copy of the report to the local Children's Trust Board.

For the purposes of this section—
a
the local area of a Local Safeguarding Children Board is the area of the F1local authority that established the Board;
b
the local Children's Trust Board, in relation to a Local Safeguarding Children Board, is the Children's Trust Board established for the Board's local area.
