This Schedule is to be read as follows.

Reference to an enactment is to an enactment contained in this Act, unless otherwise stated.

Reference to an enactment contained in the 1983 Act includes reference to that enactment as applied by section 40(4) of that Act (patients concerned in criminal proceedings or under sentence).
