In this Part—

“maintained school” means—
(a)
a community, foundation or voluntary school,
(b)
a community or foundation special school, or
(c)
a maintained nursery school;
“the school workforce” and “member of the school workforce” are to be read in accordance with F4subsection (1A);
“training”, in relation to members of the school workforce, is to be read in accordance with section 96(1);
“training provider” F5means a person who provides training for members of the school workforce.

For the purposes of this Part, the school workforce consists of the following members—
(a)
persons who work in schools, and
(b)
other persons who are teachers or who carry out work that consists of or includes teaching.
