98.This section substitutes both Schedule 4A to the 1991 Act (which, among other things, provides additional regulation-making powers relating to the procedural handling of departure applications) and Schedule 4B to the same Act (which specifies the cases in which a departure direction may be given and the regulatory controls which govern the operation of the departures scheme) with the equivalent provisions in relation to variation applications.
