40 Offences: penalties. U.K.

A person guilty of an offence under section [F1 28A,] 30, 33, [F2 36A,] 37 or 38 shall be liable—

(a) on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum;

(b) on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, or to a fine, or to both.
