“the 1978 Act” means the M1National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978;

“authority” has the meaning given by section 1(8) F4, except in Schedule 1;

“health service” means the health service in England and Wales and the health service in Scotland;

“medical list” has the meaning given by section 2(5);

“personal medical services” and “personal dental services” have the meaning given in section 1(8);

“pilot scheme” and “piloted services” have the meaning given in section 1;

“prescribed” means prescribed by regulations; and

“regulations” means regulations under this Act.
