SCHEDULE 6E+W Appeals to police appeals tribunals

Police appeals tribunalsE+W

1(1)In the case of an appeal by a senior officer, the police appeals tribunal shall consist of three members appointed by the Secretary of State, of whom—E+W

(a)one shall be a person chosen from a list of persons who have a seven year general qualification within the meaning of section 71 of the M1Courts and Legal Services Act 1990 and have been nominated by the Lord Chancellor for the purposes of this Schedule,

(b)one shall be a member of a police authority, other than the relevant police authority, and

(c)one shall be a person who—

(i)is (or has within the previous five years been) an Inspector of Constabulary, or

(ii)has within the previous five years been (and is no longer) the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis.

(2)The member of the police appeals tribunal to whom sub-paragraph (1)(a) applies shall be the chairman.
