A person may at any time resign his office as a member, or as chairman, by notice in writing to the Metropolitan Police Authority.

Where a member appointed under paragraph 3 resigns his office as a member under sub-paragraph (1) of this paragraph, he shall send a copy of the notice to the Secretary of State.
