39 False statements.(1)

A person is guilty of an offence if he knowingly makes a false statement for the purpose of—

(a)

obtaining the issue to himself or any other person of an operator’s licence;

(b)

obtaining the variation of any such licence;

(c)

preventing the issue or variation of any such licence;

(d)

procuring the imposition of a condition or limitation in relation to any such licence; or

(e)

obtaining the issue to himself or any other person of a certificate of qualification under section 49 or a certificate or diploma such as is mentioned in paragraph 13(1) or (1A) of Schedule 3.

(2)

A person guilty of an offence under subsection (1) is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 4 on the standard scale.
