53E+W+SIn regulation 26 of the M1National Health Service (Service Committees and Tribunal) Regulations 1974 (tenure of office of chairman of Tribunal constituted under section 46 of the M2National Health Service Act 1977) at the beginning of paragraph (1) there shall be inserted the words “ Subject to paragraph (1A), ” and after that paragraph there shall be inserted—
“(1A)The chairman shall vacate his office on the day on which he attains the age of 70; but this paragraph is subject to section 26(4) to (6) of the Judicial Pensions and Retirement Act 1993 (power to authorise continuance in office up to the age of 75).”
