21 Commutation, surrender and forfeiture.E+W+S
[F1(1)A scheme may, in such circumstances and subject to such restrictions and conditions as may be prescribed, provide for the payment of a lump sum instead of a pension required to be provided by the scheme in accordance with section 13 or 17.]
(2)Neither section 13 nor section 17 shall preclude a scheme from providing for the earner’s or the earner’s [F2widow's, widower’s or surviving civil partner's] guaranteed minimum pension to be suspended or forfeited in such circumstances as may be prescribed.
