At the end of subsection (8)(b) of section 81 of the Education Reform Act 1988 (recovery from local funds of sums in respect of maintenance grant) there shall be added the words “or from any amount payable by him to the authority under Part III of Schedule 8 to the Local Government Finance Act 1988 (which makes provision in respect of redistributed non-domestic rates).”

Subsection (8A) of that section shall cease to have effect.
