148 Interpretation of Chapter I

(1) In this Chapter—

• “the relevant provisions” means—

  (a)

  the provisions of Part IX, or

  (b)

  in the case of statutory undertakers, any statutory provision (however expressed) under which they have power, or may be authorised, to purchase land compulsorily for the purposes of their undertaking; and

• “statutory undertakers” includes public telecommunications operators.

(2) In the case of a purchase notice served by such a person as is mentioned in subsection (2)(b) of section 137, references in this Chapter to the owner of the land include references to that person unless the context otherwise requires.
