9 Interpretation.

In this Act—

  • “the Corporation” means the British Coal Corporation;

  • “subsidiary” and “wholly-owned subsidiary” shall be construed in accordance with section 736 of the M1Companies Act 1985.

10 Short title, commencement, repeals and extent.

This Act may be cited as the Coal Industry Act 1987.

Sections 6 to 8 of this Act shall come into force at the end of the period of two months beginning with the day on which it is passed.
