In section 8 of the M1Credit Unions Act 1979 for subsections (2) and (3) there shall be substituted—

In this section and section 9 below “deposit” has the meaning given in section 5 of the Banking Act 1987.

In the definition of “authorised bank” in section 31(1) of that Act for paragraph (a) there shall be substituted—
- a
an institution authorised under the Banking Act 1987 or a municipal bank within the meaning of that Act;
and the words from “and so long” to “that Schedule” shall be omitted.
