In this Part—

• [F2 “building society” means a building society within the meaning of the Building Societies Act 1986;]

• “financial year” means the period of 12 months ending with the 31st March;

• “highway”, in relation to Scotland, includes a public right of way;

• “subsidiary” has the meaning given by [F3 section 1159 of the Companies Act 2006] .
