Subsection (3) of section 130 of this Act shall have effect in relation to motor vehicles used for salvage purposes pursuant to F1Part IX of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995 as it has effect in relation to vehicles used for naval, military or air force purposes while being driven as mentioned in that subsection.

In this section “salvage” means the preservation of a vessel which is wrecked, stranded or in distress, or the lives of persons belonging to, or the cargo or apparel of, such a vessel.
