This Act may be cited as the Mental Health (Amendment) Act 1982.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . F1 any amendment or repeal by this Act of an enactment which extends to Scotland or Northern Ireland has the same extent as that enactment but, save as aforesaid, this Act extends to England and Wales only.

F2Section 149(4) of the Mental Health Act 1983 (power to extend Act to Isles of Scilly) shall have effect as if the provisions of this Act were contained in that Act.
