“the M11967 Act” means the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1967;

“the M21972 Act” means the Road Traffic Act 1972;

“prescribed” means prescribed by regulations made by the Secretary of State; and

“road” means any highway and any other road to which the public has access, and includes bridges over which a road passes F1except that in Scotland it has the same meaning as in the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984.
