The Secretary of State may direct that any road constructed by him on land transferred to or acquired by him under this Act shall, on such date as may be specified in the direction, become a trunk road within the meaning of the M1Highways Act 1980; and the provisions of that Act relating to trunk roads shall apply to the road accordingly.
