[F37(1)If any person contravenes or fails to comply with any order made under section 49, or any direction given or requirement imposed under that section, or contravenes or fails to comply with this Schedule (except for paragraph 8(3) or paragraph 9(4)) he is, save as otherwise expressly provided, guilty of an offence.S
(2)Subject to any special provisions contained in this Schedule, a person guilty of such an offence shall—
(a)on summary conviction, be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months or to a fine not exceeding [F4the statutory maximum], or to both; or
(b)on conviction on indictment, be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or to a fine F5, or to both.]
