15In Schedule 1 to the Local Authority Social Services Act 1970, the following is added at the end—
| “Adoption Act 1976 (c. 36) | Maintenance of Adoption Service ; functions of local authority as adoption agency ; applications for orders freeing children for adoption; inquiries carried out by local authorities in adoption cases ; care, possession and supervision of children awaiting adoption.”. |
