In section 1(1) of the [1897 c. 30.] Police (Property) Act 1897 (which makes provision for the disposal of property which has come into the possession of the police in connection with any criminal charge) for the words " with any criminal charge " there shall be substituted the words " with their investigation of a suspected offence ".
