[29th June 1972] Be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— 1 1 Section 44 of the Police Act 1964 (Police Federations) shall be amended as follows. 2 In subsection (2) after the words " of, and " there shall be inserted the words " subject to subsection (2A) of this section " . 3 After subsection (2) there shall be inserted the following subsection:— 2A The Secretary of State from time to time may authorise a Police Federation or a branch thereof to be associated with a person or body outside the police service in such cases and manner, and subject to such conditions and restrictions, as he may specify and may vary or withdraw an authorisation previously given; and anything for the time being so authorised shall not be precluded by subsection (2) of this section. 2 This Act may be cited as the Police Act 1972. 1964 c. 48.
