				</ukm:Metadata><Primary><Body DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1969/22/body" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1969/22/body" NumberOfProvisions="7" RestrictStartDate="2024-11-04"><P1group><Title> Grants to Redundant Churches Fund.</Title><P1 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1969/22/section/1" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1969/22/section/1" id="section-1"><Pnumber>1</Pnumber><P1para><P2 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1969/22/section/1/1" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1969/22/section/1/1" id="section-1-1"><Pnumber>1</Pnumber><P2para><Text>Subject to the provisions of this section, in the period beginning with the passing of this Act and expiring with the day preceding the fifth anniversary of the coming into operation of the <CommentaryRef Ref="c690983"/>Pastoral Measure 1968 (hereafter in this section referred to as “<Term id="term-the-initial-period">the initial period</Term>”) and in such later periods as may be specified by the <Addition ChangeId="d30p59" CommentaryRef="c690984">Secretary of State</Addition> by order made with the approval of the Treasury, <Addition ChangeId="d30p63" CommentaryRef="c690984">the Secretary of State</Addition> may, with the like approval, out of moneys provided by Parliament, make, in respect of expenditure incurred or to be incurred by the Redundant Churches Fund established by that Measure, grants to that Fund of such amounts, payable at such times and subject to such conditions, if any, as he may from time to time determine.</Text></P2para></P2><P2 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1969/22/section/1/2" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1969/22/section/1/2" id="section-1-2"><Pnumber>2</Pnumber><P2para><Text>The aggregate amount of the grants that may be paid under the foregoing subsection in the initial period shall not exceed £200,000 and the aggregate amount of the grants that may be so paid in a period specified in an order made under that subsection shall not exceed such sum as may, in relation to that period, be specified in the order.</Text></P2para></P2><P2 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1969/22/section/1/3" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1969/22/section/1/3" id="section-1-3"><Pnumber>3</Pnumber><P2para><Text>The power to make an order under subsection (1) above shall include power to vary or revoke that order by a subsequent order thereunder.</Text></P2para></P2><P2 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1969/22/section/1/4" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1969/22/section/1/4" id="section-1-4"><Pnumber>4</Pnumber><P2para><Text>The power to make an order under subsection (1) above shall be exercisable by statutory instrument, but a statutory instrument containing such an order shall not be made unless a draft of the instrument has been approved by a resolution of the Commons House of Parliament.</Text></P2para></P2></P1para></P1></P1group></Body></Primary><Commentaries><Commentary id="c690983" Type="M"><Para><Text><Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukcm/1968/1" id="c00001" Class="UnitedKingdomChurchMeasure" Year="1968" Number="1">1968 No. 1</Citation>. </Text></Para></Commentary><Commentary id="c690984" Type="F"><Para><Text>Words substituted by virtue of <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/uksi/1970/1681" id="c00002" Class="UnitedKingdomStatutoryInstrument" Year="1970" Number="1681">S.I. 1970/1681</Citation>, <CitationSubRef id="c00003" URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/uksi/1970/1681/article/2" Operative="true" CitationRef="c00002" SectionRef="article-2">art. 2</CitationSubRef></Text></Para></Commentary></Commentaries></Legislation>
