44 Power of local authorities to require information as to ownership etc. of premises.
F1Scottish Water may, for the purpose of enabling F2it to perform any of F3its functions under this Act, require the occupier or owner of any premises to state in writing the nature of his own interest therein and the name and address of any other person known to him as having an interest therein, whether as owner, tenant, heritable creditor or otherwise, and any person who having been required by a local authority in pursuance of this section to give F2it any information fails to give F2it that information, or knowingly makes any misstatement in respect thereof, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding F4level 3 on the standard scale.
