Appeal in cases of insanity
12 Appeal against verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity.
A person in whose case there is returned a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity may appeal to the Court of Appeal F1against the verdict—
(a)
with the leave of the Court of Appeal; or
(b)
ifF2, within 28 days from the date of the verdict, the judge of the court of trial grants a certificate that the case is fit for appeal.
