In this Act " the principal Act " means the Children and Young Persons Act 1933 and " the principal Scottish Act" means the Children and Young Persons (Scotland) Act 1937.

References in this Act to any enactment are references thereto as amended and include references thereto as applied, by any other enactment including, except where the context otherwise requires, any enactment contained in this Act.
