On the appointed day every member of the staff of the existing bodies shall by virtue of this Act become a member of the staff of the University and the contract of employment of every such member shall transfer in accordance with, and to the extent provided by, the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 1981 (S.I. 1981/1794).

Employment of members of the staff to which subsection (1) above applies shall be deemed for all purposes to be a single continuing employment.
