The directors of Alliance & Leicester may appoint a day to be the appointed day for the purposes of this Act and they may appoint different days for different parts of the personal bank.

Alliance & Leicester shall publish in the London Gazette, the Edinburgh Gazette and the Belfast Gazette notice of any day appointed under this section, stating whether it is the appointed day for the whole or part only of the personal bank and, where it is for part only, stating that part of the personal bank to which the appointed day relates.
