Article 48 is amended as follows.

In paragraph 1, omit “of a Member State or, in the case of a Union authorisation, the Commission”.

In paragraph 2—
a
omit “or, in the case of a Union authorisation, the Commission,”;
b
for “evaluating competent authority or, in the case of a Union authorisation, the Commission,” substitute “competent authority”.

In paragraph 3—
a
omit “or, in the case of a Union authorisation, the Commission,”;
b
omit “, the competent authorities of other Member States and, where relevant, the Commission”;
c
omit the second subparagraph;
d
omit the final subparagraph.
