Article 17 is amended as follows.

For “Agency” in each place it occurs substitute “competent authority”.

For paragraph 1, substitute—

Notifications pursuant to Article 14(2) or Article 16(5) shall be made to the competent authority.

In paragraph 2, for “in IUCLID format” substitute “in accordance with the format specified under Article 79 of Regulation 528/2012”.

Omit paragraph 3.

For paragraph 4 substitute—

Upon receipt of a notification, the competent authority shall inform the notifier of the fee payable. If the notifier fails to pay the appropriate fee within 30 days from the receipt of that information, the competent authority shall reject the notification and inform the notifier.

In paragraph 5, omit the words from “, and” to the end of the sentence.

In paragraph 6, omit “paragraph 4 or”.
