Catalogue of feed materials

A Catalogue of Feed Materials (the Catalogue) must be maintained by the appropriate authority. The Catalogue must include for each feed material listed at least the following particulars—

a

the name;

b

the identification number;

c

a description of the feed material including information on the manufacturing process, if appropriate;

d

particulars replacing the compulsory declaration for the purpose of Article 16(1)(b); and

e

a glossary with the definition of the different processes and technical expressions mentioned.

Use of the Catalogue by the feed business operators is voluntary. However, the name of a feed material listed in the Catalogue may be used only on condition that all relevant provisions of the Catalogue are complied with.

The person who, for the first time, places on the market a feed material that is not listed in the Catalogue must immediately notify its use to the representatives of feed businesses in the United Kingdom.

The appropriate authority may prescribe amendments to the Catalogue.
