The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 17(1) of the Animal Welfare Act 20061.
In accordance with section 17(3) of that Act, the Secretary of State has consulted such persons appearing to the Secretary of State to represent concerned interests as the Secretary of State considers appropriate.
In accordance with section 61(3) of that Act, a draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament.
